Classes / Festival

One-day workshops, Teen Improv Troupe, Music Video, Musical Theatre, terrific play classes for beginning to experienced actors, and a summer theatre festival and performance.

Prices range from an amazing $5.21 an hour for the play production class to $10 an hour for the workshops.

All the classes are taught by professional working actors, who are also playwrights and directors with theatre degrees. The same people who cast and direct all the EASY Theatre company shows are teaching the youth performers.

We are first and foremost teaching directors. We love theatre and performers. It is our goal to transfer a lifelong love of theatre to our students along with the skills they'll need to be successful. We direct the way we would want to be directed. Our company has always been a performers first company, and we treat the youth performers the same way. This results in happy performers; and happy performers have fun, work hard, and deliver good shows.

Payments:

Pay for Austin Classes in full and receive at least a 10% discount.
Register two siblings or same child for multiple Austin classes, pay in full, and receive an additional 10% discount.
Full fee is owed when registering. Fees refundable up to 1 week before first class. If you’re not sure about taking a longer class, then try us out. Take a workshop with us. You'll have time to drop the full class if we don't match.
Fees fully refunded if class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment.
Pay by check or credit card on line.
Your payment reserves your space.
After payment is made you will be emailed a registration form to complete.
For those making two payments, your second payment is due by March 23, 2006.

Both Musical Theatre & Music Video Performance Classes below Ages 10 up	These classes are fast and furious. The student needs to want to both sing and dance. No experience necessary, but songs and dance routines will require outside practice to keep up with the pace of the class. This class will be fun, but it is for kids who want to work together on a challenging project and are willing to practice between classes. By doing both classes, the performers will do two different songs and have a chance to experience the difference between performing for an audience and performing for a camera. See dates and times below. Note: For those who need a slower paced performance and video class contact us about our Tuesday classes.			N/A
Musical Theatre Ages 10 up	11:45-1:15 p.m. January 19-March 2 (No class on 2/9) + rehearsals for other performances listed below. Performance 1: Mini Studio performance in classroom for a friendly audience. Please send your time and day preferences. Performance 2: On the stage as part of Austin.Com…edy at the end of the semester. May 11 & May 18 rehearsals 10:30 – 3:00 p.m. + Dress Rehearsal (performance May 22 & 23 Dougherty Arts Theatre; May 30 & 31 Bastrop Opera House). Music Video Ages 10 up	11:45-1:15 p.m. March 23 – April 27 + 1 day at the recording studio and 1 day video shoot. All day shoot Friday, April 28 or Saturday, April 29. Please send preferences. Play Performance Ages 10-13	Every performer gets his or her moment to shine in this deliciously delightful play that takes a humorous look at the Austin lifestyle as seen by outsiders and newcomers. January 19 - April 27 1:30-3:00 p.m. May 4 12:30 - 3:00 p.m. May 11 & 18 10:30 - 3:00 p.m. (With costumes) No classes 2/9, 3/16 Dress rehearsal TBA (If the parents AND kids want it.) Festival Fee for Performers More info	This is an opportunity for those taking either of the music/dance classes, or the play classes who wish to continue performing for an even larger audience at the a Texas statewide theatre and meet other youth performers from around the state.	$60
Festival Fee for Crew More info	This is for kids 12-19 who would like to be part of the crew for our festival play and attend the festival workshops and events with us.	$60
