    Musical Performance AGES 5-9

Musical Performance (Youth ages 5-8) Show Chosen:Down in the Dumps a musical by Dan Roberts
Your child will be rehearsing a musical with director/choreographer Engela Edwards. Weekly rehearsals at the middle school, additional daily Tech and Dress rehearsals the week of the show, and Performance dates are required. Rehearsal CD provided. You will provide your childs’ costume.  (Easy Bright colored kids' summer clothes without words or logos, and barefoot.)
The musical Down in the Dumps has lively music and wonderful story.  Pink's Junk Yard, owned by crotchety old Miss Pinkle, is the perfect playground for a group of neighborhood children. Unfortunately, the County Court is threatening to take away the children's good times and Miss Pinkle's livelihood, because she has not complied with the Beautification Ordinance. It is up to the children to salvage thier playground.  In this musical the children are the stars.

      • Shows are to be decided or created to fit cast. Look at these fun youth show cast pics on the following page or Engela's EASY Theatre's Past Show History here.

      • Performance and Final week location:  Bastrop Opera House, 711 Spring Street, Bastrop, Texas.
      • Absences
        • While being at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory, we know illness and emergencies happen.  We expect that if and actor is sick that they stay home, but call the director.  Actors must be fever, diarrhea, and vomiting free for 24 hours before coming to a rehearsal.
        • Director Edwards will consider each case individually to determine if missed rehearsal will keep a actor from performing his role.
        • Director Edwards must be informed at registration if there are ANY rehearsal or performance conflicts.
      • MONEY:
        • Enrolling in Engela's Wednesday shows
          • Pay the $50 non-refundable deposit due at registration by clicking the deposit button below. This will hold your place in the cast/class/rehearsal slot.  You are committing to paying the entire semester fee.
          • A registration form will be emailed to you for you to complete and return after you have paid your deposit.  When you pay and return your form then you will be registered.  (Or after you've returned work scholarship forms and your registration form, then you will be considered registered.)
          • Full payment of the balance is due by the first day of rehearsals, unless a payment plan has been arranged in advance.  $25 late fee if not paid (or written payment arrangements made) by the first day of rehearsals.
        • Work scholarships and payment plans can easily be arranged.  Contact Engela at 303-5516 for more information and forms.
        • Cancellations: When you register for a rehearsal slot, you are committing to the whole fee.
        • In our attempt to make this experience affordable, we keep optional expense like tickets, videos (if available), and costumes, separate from registration fees.  These fees do not cover the cost of the project, so we will expect you to sell tickets and program ads for the show!
        • Because of the economy, Engela reduced class fees last semester by 25% and offered more scholarships even though there was a waiting list.  She is continuing at the reduced price this semester also.
        • Everyone in the audience must have a ticket.
        • You provide your costume which must be completely ready and worn to rehearsal on the date noted in class description.
        • INSTRUCTOR reservest the right to make changes until there is someone signed up for the group.
