"I Never Saw Another Butterfly" By Celeste Raspanti
Over 15,000 Jewish children passed through Terezin, and only about a
hundred were still alive when Terezin was liberated at the end of the war.
One of the survivors, Raja, having lived through it all, teaching the children
when there was nothing to teach with, helping to give them hope when there
was little enough reason for hope, creating a little world of laughter,
of flowers and butterflies behind the barbed wire, tells the true story
of the children. It's her play and it's theirs. There were no butterflies
at Terezin, of course, but for the children, butterflies became a symbol
of defiance, making it possible for them to live on and play happily while
waiting to be transported.

Baron's Brigade of Bastrop Opera House, Bastrop
"Rock Bottom" By Dan Roberts
"Rock" is thrown from a volcano at the beginning of time. He encounters
three pairs of very different characters every few million years or so
and he finds that they don't respect him very much, if at all. Although
he enjoys the conversation with each of the pairs and he reassures them
that he is really something special, he is shunned. First, there's Sand
Pebbles and Dune who reward his nagging by telling him of their great accomplishments.
Their tales only discourage him until an earthquake sends Goldie and Nugget
swirling into his space. It is their encouragement that Rock needs to glitter,
glamor and gleam. Unable to understand how to change, he settles down to
his tic-tac-toe game with a log. A hurricane sends a trunk washing onto
Rock's beach. Out come Diamond and Ruby who simply can not abide his worthlessness
and leave him alone for many more centuries. Then a field trip of school
kids stumble upon revealing Rock's true identity and his value for all
time.

the subject of bullying and the impact it has on relationships, self-esteem,
and the trickle down effect of bullying. A McKinney high school freshman
recently committed suicide as result of bullying, and we feel these plays
are a timely and appropriate way to explore the topic of bullying among
young people. We will be presenting four plays from the anthology; BLU,
Gasp, Farrah and Monster, Glorious Gail, and "Send."

"The Big Bad Musical" by Alec Strum and Bill Francoeur
A courtroom has never been more lively and fun than in The Big Bad Musical!
This smart and wickedly funny musical is great for actors and audiences
of any age. The jury (your audience) must decide the outcome of the biggest
trial ever in the fairy-tale world! The notorious Big Bad Wolf is being
slapped with a class-action lawsuit by storybooks of quirky characters
who want to get even: Little Red Riding Hood, her Grandmother, the Three
Little Pigs and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf. With
Sydney Grimm as the commentator on live Court TV, the two greatest legal
minds in the Enchanted Forest, the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother,
clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. As our wronged
fairy tale characters testify, the wolf seems deserving of all that's coming.
Yet, even though the infamous Evil Stepmother resents doing pro-bono work
on such an obviously futile defense, Mr. Wolf makes a good case for himself.
Was he born a criminal, or made one?

"Wild Strawberries" by Jerry Ayres
In the spirit of "Twelfth Night" or "She's A Man", our story "Wild Strawberries"
deals with family, fortune, and love. Upon learning of her brother's death,
Nikolette must disguise herself as her deceased brother and go to the city
and meet with the magistrate. It was to have been Nikolas' wedding day
and the news of his death has met with varying reactions and emotions.
The laughs abound as the characters deal with swapped or mistaken identities,
but the real question is will Truffledina ever get to eat?

"The Orphan Train" by Aurand Harris
The play tells the story of nine orphans on an "orphan train" that left
New York City on May 28, 1914. The train travels to Midwestern towns in
search of homes, any homes, anywhere for the orphaned and unwanted children.
There's Mary, Evie, spunky Pegeen, Annie and Little Lucy, a quiet one.
Other orphans include Frank (who later becomes Frankie, a small girl),
Raymond, Lucky and Danny the song-and-dance boy. And there are the men
and women hoping for children. The lonesome whistle wails as the train
chugs between encounters of anxiety, laughter, wistfulness, rejection and
acceptance. Eight stories unfold, each a memorable surprise

eggs, The SeussOdyssey is a hilarious and speedy reimagining of the classic
epic.

ImprovEd Shakespeare
"ImprovEd Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare,"
Adapted by Andee Kinzy
Love or Mastery? One of Shakespeare's most hotly contested, yet widely
performed, this story is brought to life by our troupe of youth players
aged 8 to 13. Filled with questionable actions, slapstick humor and girls
dressed as boys, help us determine if Love or Mastery rules the day. Described
as "'Our Gang' meets 'Shakespeare,'" you've never seen Shakespeare quite

Knights of the Round Theatre of Tyler Civic Theatre, Tyler
"Antigone Now" by Melissa Cooper
The time is the not too distant future, the place is not too uncommon
from our own, and the characters are not too different from ourselves.
"Antigone Now" tells the story of a rebellious girl who defies her uncle
and buries her disgraced brother. Based on Sophocles' ancient Greek tragedy
"Antigone", it remains a relevant piece of work dealing with political
power, mortality and the roles of women in society. It reminds us to never
stop fighting for what we think is right, and that not one individual should
have all the power. In today's world there is no shortage of opinions.
We only have to turn on the TV, open an app or surf the web to see the
wave of opinionated information. If we don't fight for what we think is
right and simply submit to the power that feeds us the information, then
humanity is lost.
May not be suitable audiences under age 12

"The Audition" By Don Zolidis
A new theater teacher is bringing a production of A Chorus Line to the
high school. Though the hopefuls range from shy to outrageous, and from
diva-like to determined, everyone has a chance to step into the spotlight.
A hilarious and heartbreaking look at the madness of auditioning and the
actors who brave the process for that perfect part.
Appropriate for all ages
Inspiration Stage, Sugar Land
"The Rules of Comedy" by Peter Bloedel
The audience is given a side-splitting lesson in what's funny and what's
not funny. In order to prove that the Rules of Comedy work, they are hilariously
inserted into one of the most popular tragedies of all time: William Shakespeare's
Hamlet. The Rules of Comedy is a physical comedy "blow-out" with an interesting
twist that showcases the cast's ability to handle tragic drama, as well.
Playing by the rules has never been so much fun. Young audiences will love
this family friendly, knee-slapping good time.
Appropriate for all ages.
The Inner Circle of Circle Arts Theatre, New Braunfels
"Things Fall (Meanwhile)" by Barton Bishop
"Things Fall (Meanwhile)" tells the story of the consequences of the
actions of two very different people and how they take responsibility for
those actions. The consequences we see are the changes that happen in two
strangers lives and how they deal with them.

EASY Theatre's Executive Director, Engela
Edwards, has moved to Captain Cook, Hawaii to run a Kona True a Kona coffee
farm and ag tourism business. She has been a gift to our community
and will be dearly missed. But we know that there is no way that
she will be able to stay away from teaching and directing for long.
Engela said, "We love it here, but we miss
you all, so come visit us on the Big Island, and Rachel, Bill and I will
take you to the best snorkeling and we'll share the best coffee."
But until then if you are missing Engela,
you can...
