Because of the number of actors registered.  I will not be able to offer a separate "Acting Skills through Games" in the Fall, but will instead incorporate the them into the rehearsal times.

  • Director/Instructor:  Engela Edwards
  • Musicals and Plays: On August 26, I chose the material being performed based on who had committed by July 1, 2008.
  • Weekly Wednesday Rehearsals Sept. 10 - Nov. 19.  + show block in January.
  • Holiday Break:  No rehearsals Nov. 21, 2008 - Jan. 3, 2009
  • Rehearsal location:  Bastrop Opera House Studio, the yellow building immediately behind the theater.  711 Spring Street, Bastrop, Texas.
  • Performance location:  Bastrop Opera House, 711 Spring Street, Bastrop, Texas.
  • Absences
    • While being at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory, we know illness and emergencies happen.  We expect that if and actor is sick that they stay home, but call the director.  Actors must be fever, diarrhea, and vomiting free for 24 hours before coming to a rehearsal.
    • Director will consider each case individually to determine if missed rehearsal will keep a actor from performing his role.
    • Director must be informed at registration if there are any rehearsal or performance conflicts.
  • Weekly Rehearsal Times:  You've committed to a rehearsal slot.  I determined in which show you were cast and therefore your exact rehearsal time. Your rehearsal choices were:
    • Wednesdays before 3 p.m. This has now been divided into three groups:

    • 9-11 Musical group
      11-1 Musical group
      1-3 Play group
    • Wednesday after 4 p.m. but before 6 p.m.

    • This is now the 4 to 6 p.m. Musical group.
  • Dress Rehearsal and Performance week/s: In January we will rehearse daily for one week and then perform at the end of that week.  See possible show block dates below.  This is an intense week of daily rehearsals.  These rehearsals will be longer than your normal weekly rehearsal.
    • I try to keep the rehearsal times in line with your regular rehearsal times when possible.
      • Meaning if you signed up for before 3 p.m. Your final week rehearsals will end before 3 p.m.
      • If you signed up for an after 4 p.m. rehearsal slot then we'll try not to start before 4 p.m.
  • Performances
    • Minimum of two performances.  Maximum of six performances.  Performances:  Saturday and Sunday matinees at the Bastrop Opera House.  Your show will fall into one of these show blocks.  I won't be able to tell until I see how well your group is progressing.  You will know by Nov. 19 your January schedule.

    MONEY:

    • Enrolling
      • Pay the $30 non-refundable deposit due at registration by clicking the deposit button. This will hold your place in the cast/class/rehearsal slot.
      • A registration form will be emailed to you for you to complete and return after you have paid your deposit.  When you pay, or if you've asked for special dispensation, when you return you registration form, then you will be considered registered.
      • Full payment of the balance is due by the first day of rehearsals, unless a payment plan has been arranged.  $25 late fee for if not paid by the first day of rehearsals or an arrangement made by the first day of rehearsals.
      • The remaining $100 will be due on the first day of rehearsals unless other arrangements have been made.  This includes a $10 non-refundable script fee.
    • You will provide your costume which must be completely ready and worn on Nov. 19, 2008 for the publicity pictures.  Come in costume to class.
    • Work scholarships and payment plans can be arranged, but must be done by the registration deadline.  Contact Engela at 303-5516 for more information.
    • Cancellations:

    • When you register for a rehearsal slot, you are committing to the whole fee.  Cancellations must be submitted in writing and must be received 14 days prior to the start of rehearsals, (in this case AUGUST 27).  Cancellations will be refunded the amount paid/or owed less a $50 processing/registration fee. Of course should a class be canceled due to insufficient enrollment (almost never), any fees paid will be fully refunded.
    • In our attempt to make this experience affordable, we keep optional expense like video, tickets, and costumes, separate from registration fees.  These fees do not cover the cost of the project, so we will expect you to sell tickets and program ads for the show.
    • Parents or Caregivers:  May quietly observe during rehearsals.  They may also participate for free with their registered child (there is a $10 non-refundable script fee).  Register above.  If you are a participant, you are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances.
